Dear Mr. Shearer,
At Kaiser Permanente we try to adhere to a culture of YES. We attempt to make our 500,000 members happy, keep them well, and take care of them the best we can. We always strive for YES! Thus, it's been great to work with your entire team at Crowne Plaza San Diego. Seems we have many shared values when it comes to customer service, quality, sustainability, etc. Diana Roger has been particularly wonderful to get to know. She's really listened to our needs and does anything she can to ensure mutual success. I especially appreciate her and Efron putting those recycle bins in our meeting rooms, every single time...even though our guests don't always do their part!
This past week, we had a difficult situation. We had to cancel our meeting with only 24 hours notice to you. We knew the financial consequences of the cancellation and were willing to accept the loss. But, Diana came up with a brilliant suggestion. When she offered to have the food delivered and served on site - it was more than I could have asked. They prepared, delivered, set, served, and cleaned the whole meal. As I shared this story around our leadership team, someone started to refer to this as a completely new level of service. They're calling it "Definitely YES". So you've changed our culture. We're no longer satisfied with YES, we want Crowne Plaza level of "Definitely YES" all the time.
We've had many opportunities to work with so many of your staff members. I've been impressed that you've come by our meetings to meet me, check in with our group and offer any help you can. It's easy to see that service starts at the top at Crowne Plaza San Diego and I'm thankful for all that you do.

Dear Kirk...My wife and I live in Redondo Beach and love spending time in San Diego when we can take time off from our busy schedules. We stayed at your hotel one night just before Thanksgiving. We ate at your sushi bar and met Leonard. What a great guy and what great sushi! We then had the pleasure of meeting Mike the bartender. They both made us feel right at home. Mike had such a pleasant down to earth personality that we spent several hours at his bar chatting and joking around. When deciding where to spend the New Year's weekend, we both agreed that your Islands Bar would be a fun place to bring in the new year. When we arrived we were welcomed like family. I wanted to extend my appreciation to you and your team for the great job they did for me this week during the Color Spot Sales Conference. The catered events in my suite on Sunday and Monday night went off without a hitch. The presentation was great, the food was excellent, and the service was friendly and timely.
In particular, the assistance given for the unplanned events of Tuesday was superb. To be able to call you at 3pm and have a full party set up by 5pm was excellent work. The party went so well we ran out of everything by 6pm and asked to have it all replenished while we were at dinner. To have it all ready when we returned was outstanding.
These events were a big hit with the Color Spot team. Please pass along my great thanks to Joel and the rest of your staff for the great work they did for us this week. We really appreciate it.

On November 4-5, Rotary District 5340 held its annual District Conference a thte Crowne Plaza Hotel. This conference was very special in that we were celebrating 100 years of Rotary in the San Diego region (63 clubs in San Diego and Imperial Counties).
We had 600 Rotarians and guests in attendance at various events over this two day period. The feedback has been almost 100% positive in all areas. One of the reasons for our amazing success had to do with the event location and, most importantly, with the dedicated support we received from Diana Roger and her talented staff.
Diana began workign with us on this centennial event eighteen months ago. From the outset she provided invaluable information, insight and guidance. She remained visible during the entire conference weekend and halep resolve those situations that invariably "pop up" in the 11th hour. Her tireless effort on our behalf was most appreciated.
It will be my pleasure to recommend the Crowne Plaza as an event destination to anyone planning a future event in San Diego.

I want to say that both of you, along with the rest of the staff did a great job!. Steve and Valorie you both responded to my emails and questions not only in a timely manner, but you were both always pleasant to work with. You did everything you could to make this workshop successful, and I want to thank you and tell you what a great job you did.
The front desk and bell desk folks were ver responsibe whenever I contacted them about anything. The van drivers were friendly and informative and I want to be sure they are thanked also.
Of the six trainings I did this year the one that really stands out is the Crowne Plaza San Diego. You have a great staff there adn they all seem to enjoy thier jobs!

I recently hosted a small dinner with some of our friends from San Diego, San Francisco and Canada at Crowne Plaza last Saturday August 27, 2011. It was such an incredible experience, I wanted to take a moment to thank you.
The dining room was wonderful, the hotel is beautiful, the grounds are well maintained, and the food is phenomenal. Although the venue is wonderful, the real gems are your staff:
The restaurant staff was fantastic Matthew and Brian. Where would I have been without them.
No request was met with any attitude or negativity. All aimed to please and no matter what I asked I was met with kindness. I think you must put "kind pills" in your drinking water.
Thanks for giving us the VIP treatment we really appreciated your thoughtfulness. Everyone had a great time.

All of us at Tiki Oasis would like to thank the entire staff of the Crowne Plaza for the great work you did over the Tiki Oasis weekend. Many of our guests commented on how nice the staff is and what a great job they are doing. I did not hear one complaint about the hotel service and staff all weekend!!
I especially enjoy the feeling that the Crowne Plaza staff is now part of the event and working with us together like one large team. Some of the Tiki Oasis staff were impressed that Crowne Plaza staff called them by name. That makes for a nice family feeling. We really appreciate the support and the extra effort the Crowne Plaza staff puts in to keep us happy 24-7 for the long weekend.
We know it is a huge challenge to occupy every room, take up every chair and table and then move them around to various rooms, set up a stage then move it on Sunday, feed over 1000 people, clean up after everyone, and still keep smiling!
The Tiki Oasis staff looks forward to working with the Crowne Plaza staff in the future.
All of our guests had a great time and I hope that the staff did too.

I'm writing to inform you of the asset that you have in the Islands Sushi and Pupu Bar. Over my four night stay with you last week, I had the pleasure of meeting Chris. Not only was Chris very helpful in local knowledge, but he took care of myself and others in my group with the highest of customer service. For the service that I experienced with Chris, I would recommend for others and for myself that the next time I am in the San Diego area for business, I will be staying at the Crowne Plaza San Diego. Chris is an outstanding asset to the Crowne Plaza and I hope he does not go unnoticed. My stay at the Crowne Plaza was wonderful and Chris was a large part of it.

My family just returned from a wonderful visit to San Diego, CA adn it would not have been made possible if it wasn't for Susana at the Front Desk.
We were booked at another hotel for this past weekend from Friday to Monday, hoping to save money. When we arrived at it, things were going bad from the start. We had paid in advance for it and found out that the room was not what we paid for. The next morning we came to your front desk and explained our circumstances to Susana of how exhausted and disappointed we were with the other hotel especially since we haven't had a family vacation in years. It was a busy weekend in San Diego, but Susana found us a room. We were immediately overcome with excitement to know that someone cared enough to take the time and effort to work things out on short notice and a busy weekend for your hotel.
Her actions were very comforting for us all and we had a wonderful well needed family vacation. Susana even did a follow up phone call to make sure things were good!
We wanted you to know of all this because we have never stayed anywhere where we received such outstanding customer service.
